Advice on and experience with YouTube-posts on different types of hardware

Samsung SMART Signage with Tizen

Samsung screens with Tizen 7.0, SSSP10, SSSP6, and SSSP5 works well for displaying videos from YouTube. Some devices require an update of firmware to be able to display video. See our suggestions for hardware to read more about the screens from Samsung.

Because of technical limitations on some Samsung screens, the YouTube post and the Video post cannot not be used at the same time on the same screen.

Sony BRAVIA™ Professional Displays

YouTube-posts works well on Sony BRAVIA screens with Android 9.0 and newer, with the PinToMind Player app installed. We recommend a daily restart of the device for video to work optimally.

Windows with PinToMind app

We find that YouTube on Windows works very well. But there are many different Windows devices and how it works on your screen depends on what equipment you have. We recommend that you use the PinToMind Player app for Windows.

Chromebox with PinToMind app

Chromebox works well when displaying YouTube-posts, and provides a stabile display. With PinToMind Player, the Chromebox will get a daily restart, so that the internal memory will be emptied and all posts are retrieved anew.

PC or Mac with browser

PC or Mac with live-display in browser work very well in our tests, but demand a daily restart. We have the best experience with using Google Chrome, and no matter the browser type, make sure it is an updated version. Check also that the browser of the machine that displays the public screen is set up to use  HTML5-display of YouTube.

Philips with Android (Q-Line, D-Line and P-Line)

Tests we have done, shows that the screens work well when they are set up to use the built-in browser. We don't do the same testing for this type of screens as we do for the Samsung Smart Signage with Tizen.
